In July 2025, for presenting the client, our law firm won legal battle against Wuxi steel Trade Co., Ltd., following dispute over shortage of steel pipes. The Germany purchased 500 tons of steel from Wuxi supplier, and paid the supplier accordingly, but after receiving the cargo, the buyer found only 400 tons of steel, 100 tons of steel were missing upon delivery, resulting in substantial financial losses. The seller did not accept liability for the alleged shortage. The supplier submitted the evidence of B/L, stating that the quantity and weight in the B/L was correct. To resolve the dispute, on behalf of buyer, we initiated litigation in Chinese court, presenting evidence including inspection reports from destination port. After judicial proceedings, the court accepted the evidence of the inspection report, judged the supplier shall compensate for the missing cargo and loses. Our client expressed full satisfaction with the fairness of China law and court.
